A soldering pin battery is designed to provide electric power by utilizing one or multiple electrochemical cells. These cells have connections on the outside that allow them to power various electrical devices. The cathode, or positive terminal, of the battery is responsible for supplying power, while the anode, or negative terminal, acts as the receiver of electrons that flow through an external circuit towards the positive terminal. When the battery is connected to an external load, a redox reaction takes place, converting high-energy reactants into lower-energy products. The difference in free energy resulting from this reaction is then transferred to the external circuit as electrical energy. By rearranging the content, the information is retained but presented in a different manner.

 

Alkaline batteries, commonly used in flashlights and portable electronic devices, belong to the primary battery category. These batteries are used once and then discarded because the electrode materials undergo irreversible changes during discharge.
